In the seaside village of Cape Willington, Maine, Candy Holliday has an idyllic life tending to the Blueberry Acres farm she runs with her father. But, when an aging playboy and the newly crowned Blueberry Queen are killed, Candy investigates to clear the name of a local handyman. And as she sorts through the town’s juicy secrets, things start to get sticky indeed…
By now you should know how much I love a cozy, culinary mystery! I had been skipping over this new series fr a while due to the not so savory reviews it had gotten. One thing about me is I always come around and decide for myself and usually my opinion is different.
Candy moves into her fathers blueberry farm after a quick but tragic divorce, changing everything about her and who she thought she was. Maine is far from being Boston but Candy is all about making the best of things.
She is excited about the upcoming festival when out of the blue, one of the judges for the Blueberry Queen pagent washes ashore, dead. Did he commit suicide? Most people in town think he had many reasons to, or is it more sinister..Did someone want him dead? After the pageant another local comes up cold with not much explanation. Who did it?
I absolutley ended up loving this book. I will say that at the beginning of the book, the author explained over and over again one little area in the town which got old pretty fast and was annoying but once you get past that, this book is terrific! There is a 2nd book out in this series also. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
